At 9:00pm this evening, the President of the United States will deliver the State of the Union Address before a Joint Session of Congress. Senators will assemble in the Senate Chamber at 8:20pm and proceed to the House Chamber at 8:25pm.
Upon dissolution of the joint session, the Senate will stand adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #647 John DeLeeuw, of Texas, to be a Member of the National Transportation Safety Board for the remainder of the term expiring December 31, 2026.
At approximately 11:45am, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the DeLeeuw nomination.
The Senate will recess between 12:45pm and 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
If cloture is invoked, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the DeLeeuw nomination.
During Tuesday’s session, Senator Thune filed cloture on Executive Calendar #651 Ryan McCormack, of Virginia, to be Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy. This cloture motion will ripen during Thursday’s session.
