Schedule for Tuesday, February 3, 2026

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #610 David Clay Fowlkes, of Arkansas, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas, post-cloture.

 

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Fowlkes nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #611 Nicholas Jon Ganjei, of Texas, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas.

 

Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

 

If cloture is invoked on the Ganjei nomination, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #614 Aaron Christian Peterson, of Alaska, to be United States District Judge for the District of Alaska.

 

If cloture is invoked on the Peterson nomination, there would be up to two hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination. This vote is possible during Tuesday’s session. Another message will be sent when more information is available.

 

During Monday’s session, Senator Thune filed cloture on the following nominations:

  1. Executive Calendar #609 Megan Blair Benton, of Missouri, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Missouri
  2. Executive Calendar #612 Brian Charles Lea, of Tennessee, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Tennessee

 

Tuesday, February 3rd at approx. 11:30am – 2 roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #610 David Clay Fowlkes, of Arkansas, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas
  2. Motion to invoke cloture Executive Calendar #611 Nicholas Jon Ganjei, of Texas, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas

 

Tuesday, February 3rd at approx. 2:15pm – 2 roll call votes expected:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #611 Nicholas Jon Ganjei, of Texas, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #614 Aaron Christian Peterson, of Alaska, to be United States District Judge for the District of Alaska
