Schedule for Tuesday, October 28, 2025

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

 

At approximately 11:30am the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #168, H.R. 5371 A bill making continuing appropriations and extensions for fiscal year 2026, upon reconsideration.  The Senate is then expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #295 Jordan Emery Pratt, of Florida, to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Florida.

 

The Senate will then recess until 2:15pm to allow for weekly caucus meetings.

 

If cloture is invoked on the Pratt nomination, the Senate will vote on confirmation at approximately 2:20pm, followed by the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #457 Edmund G. LaCour, Jr., of Alabama, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama.

 

If cloture is invoked on the LaCour nomination, there would be up to two hours of debate prior to a roll call vote on confirmation of the nomination.

 

Additional votes are possible during Tuesday’s session.  Senators will be notified when votes are scheduled.

  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #457 Edmund G. LaCour, Jr., of Alabama, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama

 

Up to 2 hours of debate – at least 1 roll call vote expected:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #457 Edmund G. LaCour, Jr., of Alabama, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama
