Schedule for Thursday, October 16, 2025

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business with senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

 

At approximately 11:00am the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #168, H.R.5371, a bill making continuing appropriations and extensions for fiscal year 2026.  If cloture is not invoked, the Senate will then vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #460, Harold D. Mooty III, of Alabama, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama.

 

If cloture is invoked on the Mooty nomination the Senate will vote on confirmation at a time TBD by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader.

 

At approximately 1:30pm, the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #136, H.R.4016, Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2026.

 

Thursday, October 16th at approx. 11:00am – 2 roll call votes expected:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on motion to proceed to Cal. #168, H.R.5371, Continuing Resolution
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #460 Harold D. Mooty III, of Alabama, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama

 

Thursday October 16th at approx. 1:30pm – 1 roll call vote expected:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on motion to proceed to Cal. #136, H.R.4016 - Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2026
