The Senate stands in recess until 11:00am on Friday, September 19, 2025.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Cal. #115, S.2296, National Defense Authorization Act.

 

At a time to be determined by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader, should the Senate receive H.R.5371 Continuing Appropriations from the House, the Senate will proceed to the immediate consideration of S.2882 Continuing Appropriations (Democratic proposal) and vote on passage of the bill with 60 affirmative votes required for passage. If S.2882 is not passed, the Senate will proceed to the immediate consideration of H.R.5371 and vote on passage of the bill with 60 affirmative votes required for passage.

 

During Thursday’s session, Senator Thune filed cloture on the following nominations:

  1. Executive Calendar #425 Michael G. Waltz, of Florida, to be Representative of the United States of America to the Sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations during his tenure of service as Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations.
  2. Executive Calendar #410 Michael G. Waltz, of Florida, to be the Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations, and the Representative of the United States of America in the Security Council of the United Nations

Roll call votes in relation to these nominations are expected prior to the scheduled recess.
