Leader Schumer Statement On The Release Of Omer Neutra By Hamas

Washington, D.C. – Today, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) released the following statement following the return of American-Israeli Omer Neutra to Israel over 2 years after his kidnapping:

“Two anguishing years after Hamas murdered him on October 7th, Omer Neutra z”l has finally been returned to Israel.

“Omer was a proud New Yorker, and over the last two years, I’ve gotten to know his family well as they fought bravely and strongly to finally bring Omer home. I know nothing will erase the pain of losing their son. Finally after two years, Omer can be laid to rest in proper burial. May his memory be a blessing.

“The bodies of 8 hostages murdered by Hamas remain in captivity, including that of New Yorker, American-Israeli Itay Chen. We will not stop working until they are all home.“
