Schedule for pro forma session and Tuesday, September 22, 2026
The Senate stands adjourned until 9:00am on Friday, September 18, 2026, for a pro forma session only with no business conducted.
When the Senate adjourns the pro forma session, the Senate will next convene at 3:00pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #828 Angela Veronica Colmenero, of Texas, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas.
At approximately 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Colmenero nomination.
During Thursday’s session, Senator Thune filled the amendment tree and filed cloture on Cruz-Cantwell substitute amendment #6776 and the underlying bill, Cal. #449 S.4668, Protect College Sports Act. The filing deadline for first degree amendments to the substitute and the underlying bill is 3:30pm on Tuesday.
