The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

 

At approximately 11:30am the Senate is expected to vote on a motion to discharge the Foreign Relations Committee of further consideration of S.J.Res.163  A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress (Merkley).

 

Following the motion to discharge the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #296 S.Res.526 A resolution withholding the pay of Senators if a Government shutdown occurs.  If cloture is invoked on the motion to proceed all psot-cloture time will be expired and the Senate will vote on adoption of the motion to proceed at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader no earlier than Thursday, May 14th.

 

At approximately 2:00pm the Senate is expected to vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #727 Kevin Warsh, of Florida, to be Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for a term of four years.

 

Wednesday afternoon at approx. 3:45pm the Senate is expected to consider a series of CFPB CRA’s.  Three roll call votes with respect to motions to proceed to Cal. #388 S.J.Res.132, ‘‘Examinations for Risks to Active-Duty Servicemembers and Their Covered Dependents’’ (Reed), Cal. #393 S.J.Res.141 ‘‘Debt Collection Practices (Regulation F); Deceptive and Unfair Collection of Medical Debt” (Warnock), and Cal. #386 S.J.Res.130 ‘‘Consumer Financial Protection Circular 2024–05: Improper Overdraft Opt-In Practices’’ (Van Hollen) are expected, followed by 17 voice votes with respect to the remaining CFPB CRA’s on the Calendar of Business (listed below).
