Schedule for Wednesday, December 3, 2025

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #474 Matthew E. Orso, of North Carolina, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of North Carolina.

 

At approximately 11:15am, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Orso nomination.

 

If cloture is invoked, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Orso nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate is expected to vote on a Murkowski motion to proceed to

S.J.Res.91 disapproving the rule submitted by the Bureau of Land Management relating to "Coastal Plain Oil and Gas Leasing Program Record of Decision".

 

If the motion to proceed is agreed to, at a time to be determined on Thursday December 4th by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader, the Senate will vote on passage. As the Senate has received the House companion to S.J.Res.91 and pursuant to the Congressional Review Act, the vote would be on passage of H.J.Res.131.

 

At approximately 4:30pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #475 Susan Courtwright Rodriguez, of North Carolina, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of North Carolina.

 

If cloture is invoked on the nomination, at a time to be determined on Thursday December 4th by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination.

 

During Tuesday’s session, Senator Thune filed cloture on S.Res.520, en bloc consideration of certain nominations, on the Executive Calendar of Business. The cloture vote is expected during Thursday’s session.
