Schedule for Wednesday, October 1, 2025

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Cal. #115, S.2296, National Defense Authorization Act.

 

At approximately 11:00am the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #167, S.2882, A bill making continuing appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026.  If cloture is not invoked, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #168, H.R.5371 A bill making continuing appropriations and extensions for fiscal year 2026.  If cloture is not invoked, the Senate will then vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #275 Hung Cao, of Virginia, to be Under Secretary of the Navy.

 

If cloture is invoked on the Cao nomination, there would be up to two hours of debate followed by a roll call vote on confirmation of the nomination, followed by a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #2, S.Res.412, authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of certain nominations on the Executive Calendar.

 

If cloture is invoked on S.Res.412 there would be up to 30 hours of debate on the resolution.

 

Wednesday, October 1st at approx. 11:00am – 3 roll call votes expected:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #167, S.2882, A bill making continuing appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #168, H.R.5371 A bill making continuing appropriations and extensions for fiscal year 2026
  3. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #275 Hung Cao, of Virginia, to be Under Secretary of the Navy

Wednesday, October 1st if cloture is invoked, up to 2 hours of debate, then – 2 roll call votes expected:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #275 Hung Cao, of Virginia, to be Under Secretary of the Navy
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #2 S.Res.412, authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of certain nominations on the Executive Calendar
