The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #49, David Fotouhi, of Virginia, to be Deputy Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, post-cloture.
At approximately 11:15am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Fotouhi nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #112, Stephen Vaden, of Tennessee, to be Deputy Secretary of Agriculture.
Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
If cloture is invoked, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Vaden nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #117 Andrew Hughes, of Texas, to be Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
If cloture is invoked, following up to 2 hours of debate, the Senate is expected to vote on confirmation of the Hughes nomination.
During Monday’s session, Senator Thune filed cloture on the following:
1. Executive Calendar #173 William Long, of Missouri, to be Commissioner of Internal Revenue
2. Hagerty-Gillibrand substitute amendment #2307
3. Cal. #66, S.1582, GENIUS Act
As a result of cloture being filed on the substitute and the underlying bill, the first degree amendment filing deadline is 2:30pm on Tuesday.
