The Senate
stands adjourned until Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #261 Tanya J. Bradsher, of Virginia, to be Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs, post-cloture.
At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Bradsher nomination. Following disposition of the nomination the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #124 Jeffrey Irvine Cummings, of Illinois, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois
Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
If cloture is invoked, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Cummings nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Calendar #198, H.R.4366, an act making appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024.
