Schedule for Wednesday, October 16, 2019

The Senate stands adjourned until 9:30am on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #422, Barbara Barrett, to be Secretary of the Air Force, post-cloture. At 11:00am, the cloture motions on the Volk, Eskridge, Novak, and Kovner nominations will ripen and the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nominations.

 

The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

 

At 4:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Barrett, Volk, Eskridge, Novak, and Kovner nominations.

 

Wednesday October 16th at 11:00am – 4 roll call votes:

1.       Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #359, Frank Volk, to be District Judge Southern District of West Virginia

2.       Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #363, Charles Eskridge, to be District Judge of Southern District of Texas

3.       Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #328, David Novak, to be District Judge of Eastern District of Virginia

4.       Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #348, Rachel Kovner, to be District Judge of Eastern District of New York

 

Wednesday October 16th at 4:15pm, if cloture is invoked – 5 roll call votes:

1.       Confirmation of Executive Calendar #422, Barbara Barrett, to be Secretary of the Air Force

2.       Confirmation of Executive Calendar #359, Frank Volk, to be District Judge Southern District of West Virginia

3.       Confirmation of Executive Calendar #363, Charles Eskridge, to be District Judge of Southern District of Texas

4.       Confirmation of Executive Calendar #328, David Novak, to be District Judge of Eastern District of Virginia

5.       Confirmation of Executive Calendar #348, Rachel Kovner, to be District Judge of Eastern District of New York

 

In addition to the above nominations, this week the Senate may also consider S.J.Res.53, relative to the power plant rule, as well as a veto-override vote in regards to S.J.Res.54, a joint resolution terminating the national emergency declared by the President on February 15, 2019.
