  • Resume consideration of S.896, the Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009. The following amendments are pending to S.896: Dodd-Shelby amendment #1018 (Substitute) Grassley amendment #1020, as modified (Oversight Authority) Grassley amendment #1021, as modified (Auditing Authority) Kerry amendment #1036, as modified (Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure) Reed amendment #1040 (Homeless Assistance) Coburn amendment #1042 to Reed amendment #1042 (Federal Property) Casey amendment #1033 (Foreclosure Prevention/Mitigation) Reed amendment #1039, as modified (Warrants) Boxer amendment #1035 (Mortgage Notification) Schumer amendment #1031, as modified (Multifamily Mortgage Resolution)
  • 12:30pm - 2:15pm Recess to allow for the weekly party conferences. The Senate has entered into an agreement to vote in relation to the Ensign amendment #1043, as modified, to Boxer amendment #1038 (PPIP). If the Ensign amendment is not agreed to, the Senate would proceed to vote in relation to the Boxer amendment. If the Ensign amendment is agreed to, the Boxer amendment, as amended, would be agreed to by consent. There will then be up to 2 minutes for debate equally divided and controlled between Senators Dodd and DeMint or their designees prior to a vote in relation to the DeMint amendment #1026 (TARP/Common Stock). The second vote will be 10 minutes in duration.
  • Additional votes are expected throughout the afternoon as we work through the remaining amendments to the bill.
