Leader Schumer Statement On Democrats’ Cost Of Living Week Of Action

New York, N.Y. – Today, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) released the following statement on Democrats’ Cost of Living Week of Action: 

“This week, Senate Democrats are standing up and speaking out for American families who are struggling with the crushing cost of living made worse by Trump’s tariffs. Prices for groceries, housing, child care, and medicines are sky high and rising—and it’s no accident. Donald Trump and Republicans are chaotically pushing an agenda that spikes prices and gives massive tax breaks to billionaires while sticking the middle class with the bill.

“Instead of fighting for your family, Republicans are falling in line behind Donald Trump and fighting to protect billionaires and big corporations, not you. Democrats will be going to Republicans’  backyards – to local health clinics and small businesses, including restaurants and small manufacturers – to show how Trump’s policies are raising prices, hurting jobs and local economies, and putting billionaires over the people in their districts.
