Leader Schumer Announces Senate Democrats Will Block Extension Of Trump Tariffs

Washington, D.C. – Today, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) released the following statement announcing Senate Democrats will block any effort to extend Donald Trump’s Section 122 tariffs to protect Americans from Trump’s tariff chaos:

“Following his defeat at the hands of the Supreme Court, Donald Trump is doubling down on his reign of economic chaos. Donald Trump’s 15% global tariffs will continue to raise prices and make life unaffordable for millions of Americans.

“Senate Democrats will continue to fight back against Trump’s tariff tax, and will block any attempt to extend these harmful tariffs when they expire this summer. Democrats will not go along with furthering Trump’s economic carnage.”
