Schedule for Wednesday August 5, 2026

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:30am on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to H.R.6500, vehicle for the Continuing Resolution, post-cloture.

 

At approximately 11:30am the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #910, Erica Schwartz, of Florida, to be Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

 

If cloture is invoked on the Schwartz nomination, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination at 2:15pm.  Upon disposition of the Schwarz nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the 74 nominations en bloc as provided for in Executive Calendar #6, S.Res.817.

 

During Wednesday’s session, notwithstanding Rule 22, it will be in order for Senator Whitehouse or his designee to make motion to proceed to Cal. #532 S.J.Res.187, A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to "Modification to the Start of the Submission Period for Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Reporting and Recordkeeping Under TSCA 8(a)(7)".

  2. Motion to invoke cloture on 74 nominations en bloc as provided for in Executive Calendar #6, S.Res.817
