The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of Executive Calendar #599, Krissa Lanham, to be US District Judge for the District of Arizona.

 

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Lanham nomination.

 

Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

 

If cloture is invoked, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Lanham nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #600, Angela Martinez, to be US District Judge for the District of Arizona.

 

During Tuesday’s session, we expect to execute the order with respect to S.J.Res.58 (Consumer furnaces CRA) and that there will be a roll call vote on passage of the joint resolution. Another message will be sent as more information about timing is available.

 

If cloture is invoked on the Martinez nomination, the vote on confirmation of the nomination is expected during Wednesday’s session.

 

During Monday’s session, Senator Schumer filed cloture on the following nominations:

1.      Executive Calendar #571 Dena M. Coggins, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of California

2.      Executive Calendar #552 Melissa Griffin Dalton, of Virginia, to be Under Secretary of the Air Force

 

Tuesday, May 21st at approx. 11:30am –  roll call vote:

1.      Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #599, Krissa Lanham, to be US District Judge for the District of Arizona.

 

Tuesday, May 21st at approx. 2:15pm – 2 roll call votes expected:

1.      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #599, Krissa Lanham, to be US District Judge for the District of Arizona.

2.      Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #600, Angela Martinez, to be US District Judge for the District of Arizona.

 

Tuesday, May 21st at TBD – roll call vote expected:

1.      Passage of S.J.Res.58, providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of Energy relating to "Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Furnaces".
