The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #64, Joshua David Jacobs, of Washington, to be Under Secretary for Benefits of the Department of Veterans Affairs, post-cloture.

 

At approximately 12:00 noon, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Jacobs nomination.

 

Following the confirmation vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

 

At approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to proceed to Calendar #32, S.326, legislative vehicle for Veterans package.

 

If cloture is invoked on the motion to proceed to S.326, notwithstanding Rule 22, the Committee on Environment and Public Works be discharged from further consideration of S.J.Res.11. It will be in order for Senator Fischer to make a motion to proceed to S.J.Res.11. At approximately 4:00pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to proceed. All time used related to the joint resolution will count against the post-cloture time on the motion to proceed to S. 326, if cloture is invoked.

 

Cloture has been filed on the following:

1.      Motion to proceed to Calendar #32, S.326, legislative vehicle for Veterans package.

2.      Motion to proceed to Calendar #3, S.J.Res.4, removing the deadline for the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment

3.      Executive Calendar #22 Anthony Devos Johnstone, of Montana, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Ninth Circuit

 

Wednesday, April 26th at approx. 12:00 noon – roll call vote:

1.      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #64, Joshua David Jacobs, of Washington, to be Under Secretary for Benefits of the Department of Veterans Affairs

 

Wednesday, April 26th at approx. 2:15pm – roll call vote:

1.      Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Calendar #32, S.326, legislative vehicle for Veterans package.

 

Wednesday, April 26th expected at approx. 4:00pm – roll call vote:

1.      Motion to proceed to S.J.Res.11, providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to "Control of Air Pollution From New Motor Vehicles: Heavy-Duty Engine and Vehicle Standards".
