The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #414, Catherine Elizabeth Lhamon, of California, to be Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, Department of Education.

 

At approximately 11:00am, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Lhamon nomination.

 

If cloture is invoked, at 1:45pm, all post-cloture time will be considered expired, and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Calendar #125, S.2747, Freedom to Vote Act.

 

During Tuesday’s session, Senator Schumer filed cloture on the following nominations:

1. Executive Calendar #254, Tana Lin, of Washington, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Washington.

2. Executive Calendar #187, Douglas L. Parker, of West Virginia, to be an Assistant Secretary of Labor.

3. Executive Calendar #338, Myrna Perez, of New York, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit.

Those cloture motions will ripen on Thursday.

2. Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Calendar #125, S.2747, Freedom to Vote Act.
