The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider Executive Calendar #121, Jocelyn Samuels, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

 

The cloture motions with respect to the Samuels and Nanda nominations will ripen at 11:30am and the Senate will recess following the cloture vote on the Nanda nomination until 2:00pm.

 

At 2:35pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Samuels and Nanda nominations in the order in which cloture was invoked. Additional roll call votes are expected during Wednesday’s session.

 

Cloture has been filed on the following:

1.      Executive Calendar #121, Jocelyn Samuels, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a term expiring July 1, 2026.

2.      Executive Calendar #120, Seema Nanda, of Virginia, to be Solicitor for the Department of Labor

3.      Executive Calendar #171, J. Nellie Liang, of Maryland, to be an Under Secretary of the Treasury

4.      Executive Calendar #154, Donald Michael Remy, of Louisiana, to be Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs

5.      Executive Calendar #193, Tiffany P. Cunningham, of Illinois, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Federal Circuit

 

Wednesday, July 14th at 11:30am – 2 roll call votes:

1.      Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #121, Jocelyn Samuels, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a term expiring July 1, 2026.

2.      Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #120, Seema Nanda, of Virginia, to be Solicitor for the Department of Labor

1.      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #121, Jocelyn Samuels, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a term expiring July 1, 2026.

2.      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #120, Seema Nanda, of Virginia, to be Solicitor for the Department of Labor
