The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #223, Robert Destro, of Virginia, to be Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, post-cloture.
At 11:00am, all post-cloture time on the Destro, McIntosh, and Callanan nominations will expire and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nominations.
Cloture has also been filed on the motion to proceed to H.R.2740: Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, Defense, State, Foreign Operations, and Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, 2020. If no agreement is reached, that vote would occur immediately upon disposition of the Callanan nomination. Another message will be sent when the timing of that vote is expected.
There is also an effort to go to conference on NDAA before the end of the week.
Wednesday at 11:00am – 3 roll call votes expected:
1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #223, Robert Destro, of Virginia, to be Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor.
2. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #419, Brent McIntosh, of Michigan, to be an Under Secretary of the Treasury.
3. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #418, Brian Callanan, of New Jersey, to be General Counsel for the Department of the Treasury.
