The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #17, Chad A. Readler, of Ohio, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit, post-cloture.

 

At 4:00pm, all post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Readler nomination. Upon disposition of the Readler nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #18, Eric E. Murphy, of Ohio, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

 

4:00pm – 2 roll call votes:

1)      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #17, Chad A. Readler, of Ohio, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

2)      Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #18, Eric E. Murphy, of Ohio, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

 

As a reminder, last week Senator McConnell filed cloture on the following nominations:

1.      Executive Calendar #18, Eric E. Murphy, of Ohio, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit; and

2.      Executive Calendar #11, John Fleming, of Louisiana, to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development .

 

If cloture is invoked on any of the nominations, there would be up to 30 hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination, before proceeding to a cloture vote on the next nomination.
