McConnell files cloture on district judges

Senator McConnell announced that there will be no further roll call votes this week. The next roll call vote is expected on Monday,January 8th at 5:30pm.

 

 

This evening Senator McConnell filed cloture onthe following nominations:

 

1.     ExecutiveCalendar #370, William L. Campbell, Jr., of Tennessee, to be US District Judgefor the Middle District of Tennessee;

2.     ExecutiveCalendar #371, Thomas Lee Robinson Parker, of Tennesse to be US District Judgefor the Western District of Tennessee;

3.     ExecutiveCalendar #389, Michael Lawrence Brown, of Georgia, to be US District Judge forthe Northern District of Georgia; and

4.     ExecutiveCalendar #435, Walter David Counts III, of Texas, to be US District Judge forthe Western District of Texas.

 

Each nomination is subject toa cloture vote and then, if cloture is invoked, up to 30 hours of post-cloturedebate prior to a vote on confirmation. Upon disposition of the firstnomination, there would be a cloture vote on the next nomination in the seriesand then, if cloture is invoked, up to 30 hours of debate.

 

The first cloture vote inrelation to the Campbell nomination will be at 5:30pm on Monday, January 8th.
