Cloture invoked on motion to concur re: Dec 11 CR--Cruz motion to table tree filler amendment not agreed to by voice vote

By a vote of 77-19, cloture was invoked on the motion to concur with amendment (Dec. 11 CR). There will now be up to 30 hours of post-cloture debate prior to a vote on the motion to concur with amendment.

Senator Cruz moved to table amendment #2690 (date change), for the purpose of offering amendment #2701 (Iran nuclear agreement clock and defund Planned Parenthood). He asked for the yeas and nays and failed to achieve a sufficient second for a roll call vote. The motion to table failed by voice vote. Amendment #2690 remains pending.
