Cloture filed on Noel Fransisco (Solicitor General) nomination

Senator McConnell moved to Executive Session for the consideration of Executive Calendar #105, Noel J. Fransisco, of the District of Columbia, to be Solicitor General of the United States, and filed cloture on the nomination.

Cloture has already been filed on McCain-Reed substitute amendment #1003, as modified, and on the underlying bill, H.R.2810, NDAA. By the rules, the cloture motion with respect to the Fransisco nomination will ripen one hour after the Senate convenes following the next legislative day, or upon disposition of H.R.2810, whichever is later.

We expect consideration of the nomination to take place next week.
