Cloture on NDAA substitute invoked--5pm vote in relation to Vitter SA #1473, as further modified--sage grouse amendment withdrawn

By a vote of 83-15, cloture was invoked on McCain amendment #1463 (substitute) to H.R. 1735, NDAA. There will now be up to 30 hours of post-cloture debate.

Following the vote, Senator McCain offered Hatch amendment #1911 (software sustainment) and Vitter amendment #1473 was further modified (retirement of Army combat units).

At 5:00pm, there will be a roll call vote in relation to the Vitter amendment #1473, as further modified(retirement of Army combat units). No further amendments are in order to the Vitter amendment prior to the vote. The time until 5:00pm is equally divided in the usual form.

The Lee amendment #1687 (sage grouse) was withdrawn.
