Schedule for Pro Forma Sessions and Monday, February 27, 2017

The Senate stands adjourned to then convene for a pro forma sessions only, with no business conducted on the following dates and times:

Monday, February 20th at 4:30pm

Thursday, February 23rd at 9:00am

When the Senate adjourns on Thursday, February 23rd, it will next convene at 12:00pm on Monday, February 27.

On Monday, February 27, following any Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive #3, the nomination of Wilbur Ross, to be Secretary of Commerce.

At 3:00pm, Senator Sasse will be recognized to deliver Washington's Farewell Address.

Following the reading of Washington's Farewell Address, the Senate will resume consideration of the Ross nomination.

At 7:00pm, all remaining post-cloture time will be deemed expired, and the Senate will proceed to vote on confirmation of the Ross nomination. Following that vote, the Senate will proceed to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Ryan Zinke, to be Secretary of Interior.

  • Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Ryan Zinke, to be Secretary of Interior
 

As a reminder, Senator McConnell has also filed cloture on the following cabinet nominations:

  • Ryan Zinke (Secretary of Interior)
  • Ben Carson (Secretary of Housing and Urban Development)
  • James Richard Perry (Secretary of Energy)
Each cloture petition will ripen upon disposition of the previous nomination, and each nomination is subject to 30 hours of post-cloture debate.
