Roll Call Vote on motion to proceed to Legislative Session

Senator McConnell then filed cloture on the nomination of Jeff Sessions to be Attorney General. As a reminder, yesterday Senator McConnell filed cloture on the nomination of Elisabeth DeVos to be Secretary of Education. The cloture petition on the Sessions nomination will ripen on the next legislative day or upon disposition of the DeVos nomination, whichever is later.

At 3:27pm, the Senate began a 15 minute roll call vote on the motion to proceed to Legislative Session.
