Leader Schumer Statement Demanding Senate Republicans End Obstruction After House Passage Of ACA Subsidy Extension

Washington, D.C. - Today, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed a bipartisan, three-year extension of Affordable Care Act tax credits:

“Today’s bipartisan vote shows the three-year extension of ACA tax credits Democrats have pushed for is the only bill that has a majority of support in the House and the Senate. The American people are demanding relief from the high costs of the Trump administration. As grocery, energy, housing, and other costs continue to soar, skyrocketing health care costs has become a matter of life and death for many American families.

“Leader Thune and Senate Republicans must stop standing in the way of a bill to lower health care costs for millions of families and bring it up immediately for a vote.”
