FIVE TIMES: Republicans Again Block Pay for TSA Workers — Leader Schumer Blasts GOP For Choosing Politics Over Paychecks

Washington, D.C. – Today, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) released the following statement after Senate Republicans blocked TSA funding for the fifth time:

“Five times, Senate Democrats have put a clean TSA funding bill on the floor — no poison pills, no partisan riders, no excuses.

“Five times, Republicans have blocked it.

“Republicans are choosing to withhold pay from TSA officers — choosing longer lines, more delays, and more chaos for American travelers — and choosing to hold critical public safety funding hostage to political demands.

“The contrast couldn’t be clearer: Democrats are fighting to pay TSA workers and keep Americans moving. Republicans are choosing politics over paychecks and dysfunction over public safety.”
