Schedule for Wednesday, May 16, 2018

The Senate stands adjourned until 9:30am on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.

Following leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #607, Mitchell Zais, of South Carolina, to be Deputy Secretary of Education.

At 12:00 noon, Senator Schumer, or his designee, will be recognized to offer a motion to proceed to S.J.Res.52, a joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Federal Communications Commission relating to "Restoring Internet Freedom" (Net Neutrality). If the motion to proceed is agreed to (majority vote), there would be up to 10 hours of debate. We expect the vote on passage to occur around 3pm.

Upon disposition of S.J.Res.52, there will be a roll call vote confirmation of the Zais nomination.

We expect one roll call vote at noon and two roll call votes around 3pm. If the motion to proceed to net neutrality were to fail, there would be two roll call votes at noon (and nothing at 3pm).
